Welcome to our Frequently Asked Questions! We hope this answers any questions you may have, but if not, feel free to message us!

How does the process work?

Once we narrow down what you are after (project type, size, finish), we will provide an estimate. If you choose to move forward, Casey will schedule a time for me to come out and meet with you for final measurements and any missing details regarding the design. I will then submit a quote to you via email. Once you accept your quote, I will then prepare a contract for you to sign. As soon as I have the signed contract and a 50% deposit, I will give you an estimated date range of completion.

Casey will update you each month around the 15th with a progress report and we will begin narrowing down time frames as we get closer to production. When you are the 2nd project out, I begin alerting you to your current position in line and refine the date range best I can. I will update you until your project goes into production. At that time, we will begin to coordinate potential install dates.

How do we narrow down design ideas?

To be able to provide an broad estimate, we really only need minimal details. Once you decide to move forward, prior to meeting with Greg in person, it would be helpful if you sent one or more of the items below:

  • Send us a hand sketch (It certainly doesn't need to be pretty! Trust us, we aren't judging.)
  • Start a Pinterest board and add everything you love - the overall design, little details like hidden storage, color schemes, etc. If you aren't sure how to share the board with us, we made this easy guide. It's just 4 simple steps.

While meeting, Greg will open the sketch and boards to figure out what aspects you loved from each.

Once I make a deposit, how long will it be until my project is installed?

All projects take at least 5 to 9 months from the date of the signed contract and receipt of a 50% deposit. Both parts must be completed to be placed in the queue for production.

Will you alter the timeline for my project if I pay a rush fee?

As much as I’d love to accommodate, I’ve already made a commitment to my other clients and must honor that commitment to the time frame I gave them when I collected their deposit. Therefore, I cannot do any rush orders.

Can you install barn doors and/or cabinets that I’ve purchased at a big box store?

I do not install any products I did not build myself. I like to ensure the quality of the project and I am unable to do so when installing someone else’s product.

Where do you purchase your barn doors?

I don’t purchase any pre-built doors. I purchase lumber from local suppliers and build everything in my shop. I have videos on my Facebook page showing the build from start to finish.

Do you refurbish furniture?

I do not do any refurbishing or modifying. Should you choose to replace your existing furniture, I’d be happy to supply you with a quote to build you a one-of-a-kind replacement.

Can you incorporate salvaged or heirloom wood into a project?

Yes! It's actually one of my favorite things to do. I love taking something that is meaningful to someone and making it into something they can show off. One of our clients cleared some oaks off of their property to build their new home. After it was milled and dried, we made some really cool projects out of it. We were able to craft many things out of that wood including mantels, countertops, barn doors, a Christmas Tree door, end tables, and some accent pieces. I was honored to help create something that was so special to them.

Do you offer financing?

No, I do not offer financing. I accept cash, check (made payable to Byrus Signature Touch), or ACH only.

Do you accept credit cards?

No, I do not accept credit cards. I accept cash, check (made payable to Byrus Signature Touch), or ACH only.

Do you offer a discount for cash payments?

No, I do not offer a discount for cash payments. The deposit is placed into my business account just the same as a check.

Do you offer sketch-ups or renderings for projects?

For any piece of furniture (besides a barn door), I will provide a hand drawn sketch of the project at no charge. If you’d like an actual rendering, I will be happy to provide one for a $300 fee. Should you choose to move forward with the project, the $300 fee is applied toward your deposit. Should you choose to not move forward with the project, the rendering is yours to keep.

What are your business hours?

My business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4 pm. However, I am often in the shop covered in sawdust or paint. Often times, I can’t get to my phone until a few hours later. My commitment to you is that I will return all calls and/or emails within 24 business hours.
